The mission of the Historic Core Business Improvement District is to improve the quality of life of residents, property and business owners in Downtown LA’s Historic Core through clean, safe, and enterprise programs. The HCBID is paid for by local tax assessments. Whether you are a loft owner or own an entire building, your contribution keeps the neighborhood cleaner and safer, helps local businesses grow and thrive, and gets our neighborhood noticed. Historic Core BID team Blair Besten Ari Simon Downtown Los Angeles > Safe Programs: We work with Universal Protection Services to ensure our diligent team of officers go through a rigorous training schedule before working in partnership with LAPD to patrol our streets by bike, foot beat, and segways, 24 hours a day every day. > Clean Programs: To keep the Historic Core clean, we partner with Chrysalis, a non profit dedicated to employing individuals who are chronically homeless or in deep economic disadvantage. These dedicated men and women work diligently every day sweeping, emptying trash, and cleaning sidewalks. Often the first to notice local problems like graffiti, illegal dumping, and maintenance issues, their care for the community is invaluable. Our Doggie Relief Areas help keep dog waste off the sidewalks, helping them smell and look better. > Marketing and Economic Development: Our social media is updated regularly to highlight the Historic Core to residents and visitors alike. We work to promote our district through events, ribbon-cuttings, and marketing materials like our Historic Core Walking Guides. Our focus is everything from art, galleries, and fashion retail to food , beverage, and hospitality.
